Local Area Coordinator - Hume Merri-Bek Area (HMA)
We're seeking an enthusiastic Local Area Coordinator to join our dedicated NDIS Services Team. This role involves delivering and implementing Partner in the Community Local Area Coordination services within the Brotherhood of St Laurence (BSL) Disability Services team.
- Location: Hume Merri-bek Area - based at the BLS NDIS Hume Merri-bek Office (Broadmeadows, VIC 3047).
- Salary: A competitive remuneration package ranging from $90,962.92 - $97,875.15 per annum + 12% superannuation.
- Type of Employment: Permanent, full-time (38-40 hours per week).

ABOUT YOUR NEW ROLE
As a Local Area Coordinator, your role is a pivotal function in the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). You work with all people with disability, not just NDIS participants.
You are responsible for the delivery and implementation of Partner in the Community Local Area Coordination Services in a defined geographical area.
As a Local Area Coordinator, you will:
- Help people with disability connect with supports, activities in their community and other government services to meet their needs
- Share information about the NDIS and help people access the NDIS if needed
- Work with NDIS participants to understand and use their NDIS plan
- Work in local communities to help them become more accessible and inclusive for all people with disability.
To help set you up for success, your probation period will be fully office-based, giving you hands-on support and learning opportunities.
Once completed, you may have the opportunity to move into a hybrid working pattern, spending a minimum of 60% of each week in the office.
ABOUT YOU
We are seeking applicants who have:
- Relevant qualifications in fields such as Disability, Allied Health, Human Services, Social Sciences, Education, Community Services and/or
- Lived experience with disability or awareness of the impact of existing or acquired disability upon individuals, families, carers and the community
- Highly developed communication, listening and relationship building skills
- Experience in working alongside community towards common goals
- Confidence using a variety of computer programs and equipment and ability to enter information accurately
